During this week we learned about Plagiarism and how avoided it. According with
thefreedictionary.com:
Plagiarism “is the act of
appropriating the literary composition of another author, or excerpts, ideas,
or passages therefrom, and passing the material off as one's own creation”. In
my own words Plagiarism is stole ideas from others and put them in our work,
without any recognize of the original author’s attribution.
To learn about it our
teacher share some web pages, in which we can find complete information about Plagiarism
and how can avoid it http://www.plagiarism.org/. http://www.pvc.maricopa.edu/researchhelp/plagiarism.html.
In this topic also, we
could learned about some simple forms to avoid plagiarism. First, we can use citations that are the best form of
telling people that any information source that we include in our work is not
ours. Also, to avoid plagiarism use paraphrase
is the good way. It means to put into our own words ideas of other author.
Finally, using quotation we can
repeat one expression to attribute by citation to its original source.
Finally, in this
week learned that for the first way to avoid plagiarism (citation) the most
common style that is used around the world is the APA style. It refers to the
rules and conventions established by the American Psychological Association for
documenting sources. To know more about APA style you can visit this web page http://www.library.cornell.edu/resrch/citmanage/apa, in which you can find all the steps that you must
follow to avoid plagiarism.
In conclusion, to
eradicate plagiarism we have to know what it is? And how to avoid it. Only,
with this information we can able to eliminate it definitely.
